How to write to people who are just too busy (isn’t that everyone?)

People struggle to find time. You know the type. They complain they’re too busy and that there aren’t enough hours in the day.

In fact, aren’t most people like that now?

So if most people are struggling to find time – how should you write?

Efficiently is the answer. Don’t waste people’s time.

Let’s say you’ve written this: “It will provide you with an effective opportunity to…”

Why not write: “It will let you…”

Or, how about: “I will now present to you the strategic-approach behind the action points I’m about to propose.”

Why not just write: “Here’s the plan.”

And if you think a “plan” doesn’t sound as impressive as “presenting the strategic-approach behind the…”

Understand this – We write to express, not to impress.

I didn’t make that last phrase up by the way. It’s been used by writing experts for years. Wouldn’t want you to think I was trying to impress or anything.
